Denbigh Administration v8.5 is the result of thousands of hours of development over the last two years and is now optimised for FileMaker 8.5.

The new features and functionality are summarised here, and some are covered in more detail elsewhere in this newsletter. Details of others will be covered in subsequent newsletters.

 

The updated and expanded Main Menu

 

Denbigh Administration v8.5 has massively expanded capacity with the removal, essentially, of all FMPro 6 limits on tables per file, maximum file size, maximum record count, text field contents and container field contents. It also exhibits a significant performance increase, particularly with large data sets and there is a much reduced risk of file corruption.

Authentication is now external - users log in with their own name and password and authentication is against the school’s primary server (Windows 2003 or MacOS 10.4). There has also been a major overhaul of privilege control and privileges, field definitions, and database design are all able to be performed whilst the database is live.

Documents such as Word, Excel and PDF’s can be attached directly into the database and there is also the ability to export to Excel and print to PDF from almost anywhere in the database.

Date entry is now streamlined with a pop-up calendar feature in date fields if required, and Spell-check on-the-fly in all text fields underlines incorrect or doubtful spelling in red.

The new Correspondence Module offers pro forma letter functionality with powerful correspondence generation and mail merge accessible from several key areas. Additionally, enhanced email functionality has become fully integrated throughout Denbigh Administration v8.5. (See separate article in this newsletter)

A completely new and powerful Calendar Module features tabbed Day, Week, Month and Year views as well as a Room Bookings facility. (Further information will be released soon.)

New Human Resources functionality has been added to Staff Details. (See separate article in this newsletter)

Finally, Denbigh Administration v8.5 now has links to MoneyWorks™, integrating the best financial solution for schools with the best administration system. This allows the seamless transfer of financial information directly between the two systems, eliminating time-consuming and expensive double-keying.
